To better understand how Bunker Armour® can be installed at your course, below is an outline as to the process:

Mapping

Step 1 - Assessment

In order for us to evaluate, scope and ascertain the extent of your requirement, we need direct communication with the course superintendent and/or course architect (particularly if the course is yet to be or is currently under construction).

We establish the number, size and type/style of bunkers that are being built, excavated or renovated.

A preliminary “scope of work” is formulated through plotting and measurement via drone mapping or satellite photos of the course site (if it is already in existence).

Step 2 - Quotation & Logistics

Depending on the location of your club, we structure a full costing outline of the project and installation to be managed and performed by the nearest Bunker Armour® office to the location.

In order to minimise the costs of the project, they will source certain materials from your local area to avoid creating unnecessary logistics costs to you as the client.

Part of this step is also to establish the availability of certain machinery from your facility i.e. tractor and trailer etc.  If not, we have our own or can rent it as part of the project cost, but as before, we try to keep this to a minimum to benefit you as the client.

Step 3 - Onsite Assessment

Upon conclusion of cost estimates, evaluations and planning the logistics, we structure an on-site assessment to discuss and investigate best practices and options for the project.

This usually takes 2 days for an average golf course (i.e. parkland type course).

Final details are structured and a final project plan is put in place for the club/architect’s consideration and signature.

We utilise drone mapping as part of our standard measurement at this stage of the process.

Install

Step 4 - Installation

Depending on the scope of work, the installation is quick and efficient.

With a golf course under construction, the Bunker Armour® installation period is quicker due to the fact that the bunker foundations are free of contaminant/old sand and the drainage will be new and not require checking or replacement.

Also, for golf clubs have bunkers renovated during times when golfers are still playing golf on the course, allowances need to be made for their awareness of the construction and our team will intermittently halt work for passing golfers.

This process takes a little longer, but is achievable.

All we require for the installation of Bunker Armour® is a clean bunker “shell” with the drainage solution exposed.

Play

Step 5 - Play Golf

As there is no curing period for Bunker Armour®, once the bunker sand has been installed and stabilised (we suggest a few runs with your Sand Pro and a short session of hand watering), it is ready for play, as well as to enhance and compliment the design of your beautiful golf course.

As the Bunker Armour® product requires little or no sand on the bunker faces, the old adage of “You have to wait months for the sand to stabilise” becomes redundant.

Perfect bunkers immediately!
